Summary

Clary portals to Lake Lyn and falls into it again. Valentine pulls her out and cures the curse, but leaves her tied and gagged with runes. Valentine tells Clary that he needs blood to carry out his ritual and since she is there, he will use hers. As Valentine is about to kill Clary, Jace arrives. The two men fight. Jace is killed. Valentine then returns to his ritual, using Jace’s blood.

The angel arises out of the lake. Valentine tells the angel what he wants, but the angel finds Valentine’s scheme to be amusing. The angel refuses to do as Valentine has asked because Clary has managed to change one of the runes of the ritual to make the angel subordinate only to her. The angel then kills Valentine and offers Clary...
