Freewill/Motif

Freewill is an innate desire for the right to make personal choices. The extent of free will is directly related to a society. The quest for free will drives the story line throughout The Hive Queen.This novel is set in Pantala, a continent inhabited by three dragon tribes – HiveWings, SilkWings, and LeafWings. From a societal perspective, the HiveWings are at the top of the chain because they were victors in a recent war and their queen rules the HiveWings and the SilkWings while the LeafWings live as outcasts. The SilkWings have few rights though they are an integral part of this society. Additionally, the HiveWings' are subjected to mind control whenever Queen Wasp wants, which has greatly limited their ability to exercise free will.
