Summary

In Chapter 18, Cricket wakes in a cell with Lady Scarab and Lady Jewel nearby. Lady Scarab is Lady Jewel's mother. They argue frequently. Lady Scarab is obviously angry that Cricket got caught. There are rumors that many dragons taken to Lady Jewel's prison are tortured and some disappear. Cricket knows the prison is very near Lady Jewel's home, which is not like the other Hives. Lady Scarab says the Glitterbazaar could be better and that the history taught in the school is “rubbish.” Lady Jewel is obviously frustrated. She points out Queen Wasp chooses what is taught in the school and says she has provided a huge library for all who wants to study for themselves.
