Chapter 11 Summary

Pickering arrives at MacArthur's headquarters wearing his full dress uniform. They discuss the MAGIC intercepts about the situation in Guadalcanal. Pickering reads the intercepts. MacArthur is pleased with the results in Guadalcanal. Pickering says that Pluto feels that one of the Japanese on Guadalcanal, Commander Ohmae, is more important than the CINCPAC analysts believe he is.

Dillon is at the airport to meet Pick and Dunn. He learns that Galloway did not make the trip and that they will be on another plane is a few minutes. Pick tells Jake that Galloway is with his girlfriend and not coming. Dillon tells them that they will escort McCoy to Washington for the medal ceremony. Pick is personally responsible for them. When they are introduced to Staff Sergeant McCoy, they tell him that they know his brother. Easterbrook appears since he is going with them...
