Chapter 8 Summary

Galloway, Pick and Dunn are at Pearl Harbor. They are at the hospital and Galloway asks about his nurse friend, Commander Kocharski. They find her and learn that Dick Stecker is there. They plan on visiting him. The group goes to Muku Muko, Pick's father's house. When Galloway checks in with Lieutenant Dawkins at Ewa, he tells him they are spending the day at Muku Muku. Dawkins says he will come there.

When Dawkins arrives, he hands a message to Galloway. The three men have been ordered to report to Los Angeles to work on the war bonds campaign for ninety days. They have a ten day leave before they are required to report. Dunn is supposed to be on a flight later that evening. Galloway and Pick want to know how they can get out of the assignment.
