Chapter 27

Stamp and Paul D share what they heard about what had happened in front of 124. Stamp said her heard that MrBodwin plans to sell the house. Paul D asked if that is the guy Sethe tried to stab. Janey told Stamp Mr Bodwin was trying to figure out who the naked lady on the porch was and they didn’t think he saw Sethe coming at him. Stamp said Ella and Denver jumped on Sethe before she could get to him and knocked her down. Ella punched Sethe in the mouth and Denver got the ice pick out of her hand. No one was sure what had happened to Beloved; someone said she exploded, some said she disintegrated and Ella feared she was still around.
