Darl - Chapter 50 Summary

The story picks up when Gillespie's barn is on fire. Jewel runs toward the burning barn, telling Darl to come with him. Anse, Gillespie, Mack, Dewey Dell and Vardaman follow.

Mack, Gillespie, Darl, and Jewel run into the barn to get the animals out of the fire. Mack and Gillespie use their nightshirts to cover the animals' heads in order to keep them from getting spooked by the flames.
