Vardaman - Chapter 44 Summary

The Bundrens are riding down the road while buzzards circle overhead. Cash is lying in the back of the wagon, claiming that his broken leg does not bother him, even though it is obvious that he is in pain. Darl tries to help him by tightening the ropes on Cash's splint. Seeing how badly Cash is hurting, the family decides to stop for medicine in Mottson.
