Chapter 14 Summary

Mr. Nancy, Czernobog, and Shadow drive to Minneapolis, where they meet Alviss son of Vindalf, a dwarf king, at a Burger King. He agrees to help them in the war, along with the rest of his dwarf people. Alviss gives them a new car. He mentions a vigil that will be held for Wednesday. Nancy, Czernobog and Shadow drive to Kentucky. Nancy talks to the new gods, and they arrange for the pickup of Wednesday's body from a truly neutral place, the center of America.

They meet the new gods at a motel in Kansas, near the center of the United States. A young woman greets them and introduces herself as Media. They go inside, and Mr. Town gives Shadow, Czernobog, and Mr. Nancy their room keys. Shadow goes to his room and falls asleep. He dreams about walking with a wolf. The...
