Chapter 5 Summary

Shadow and Wednesday leave to go rob the bank. They go in the bank and Wednesday picks up some deposit slips. They go to Kinko's, where Wednesday photocopies the slips. He tells Shadow to think about snow, which works and it starts to snow. Wednesday changes to look like a guard and tapes a sign to the night deposit box saying it is not working. He stands there with a box and collects the deposits from people. Shadow watches from a supermarket across the street. The police stop to check on Wednesday, and he gives them a number to call to check him out. The number is for a pay phone in the supermarket. Shadow answers and pretends to be the guard's supervisor. The police leave them alone, and they leave the bank with the money.
