Chapter 23 Summary

Sethe is the face that Beloved lost. She is the one that was picking leaves and putting them into the round basket. Sethe left her. However, she found her in that house and she is there to stay.

Sethe asks Beloved if she remembers her. She does. Beloved asks about the "men without skin" (215), but Sethe says she ran them off. Beloved says that she wanted to help Sethe, but she could not. Beloved is claimed by all three of the women.
