Chapter 22 Summary

Beloved remembers a woman putting leaves into a round basket. Then she remembers clouds getting in the way. A man above Beloved is dead. Men without skin bring food and water for everyone. The dead man has sharp teeth. He is pulled off of her and she misses his sharp teeth. It is so crowded that Beloved cannot fall. She sees a woman with something on her neck. Beloved wants to chew it off. The woman wants her earrings and her basket back. A storm comes, mixing the men with the women. The man with the sharp teeth sings to Beloved, but he dies. The man is pushed through, but the woman walks through and goes into the water. Now there are people in the water.

Rain falls. Beloved stands on the bridge. The woman with Beloved's face is gone. She travels to the water where there...
