Darl - Chapter 48 Summary

While the Bundrens are preparing to spend an evening at the Gillespies,' Darl asks Jewel who his father is, if his mother is a horse. When Jewel hears Darl's question, he gets angry and calls Darl a liar. However, their argument is interrupted when they see Cash's foot. It looks like it has been boiled and, furthermore, Cash says that his cast is getting hot. In order to relieve Cash of the heat, they pour water over the cast to cool.....
