Chapter 3 Summary

Shadow Moon meets with Wednesday at Motel America after getting out of the limo and tells him about the fat young man. Shadow also says he will need a week to get all his affairs in order. Shadow goes to sleep and dreams about walking through a room full of statues and carvings. A voice speaks and tells him that the statues and carvings of are the gods who have been forgotten by people. The voice says the gods die when they are totally forgotten.

Shadow wakes up and goes to the bathroom. When he returns, Laura is sitting on his bed. She is still dead, but can think and talk. She explains how her affair with Robbie started, and what happened the night she died. Laura tells Shadow that the gold coin he gave her is why she is able to move and talk. She leaves...
