Summary

In Chapter forty-three, as Tess rides on the back of Connor’s bike, she realizes she wants to be there with him, not back home with Will. Meanwhile, Cecilia and John-Paul talk. She starts to tell him what Rachel said about finding new evidence, but he interrupts her. He tells her he will do whatever she wants him to do. Cecilia is angry because John-Paul is making the decision her responsibility. She finally tells him about Rachel and the claim that there is new evidence. John-Paul denies there is any evidence, but says if there is, then the decision may be made for them. When Cecilia asks what will happen if the evidence points to someone else, John-Paul says he would turn himself in.
