Summary

In Chapter Three, instead of hearing that she will be having another grandchild, Rachel is disappointed to learn her son and his wife are moving to America. They will be taking Jacob, her only grandson, away from her. She tries to be the perfect mother-in-law but believes it is all for nothing as she will lose Jacob. Rachel feels as if Jacob has been responsible for bringing her life back to her. As Rob and Lauren encourage her to come see them, Rachel wonders if her life might have been different if it hadn’t been for a certain dividing date, April 6, 1984, in her life.
