Summary

Chapter 19

James enters the room, and tells them that it is okay to come out of the closet. He says the guy at the door showed a badge, but not long enough for him to really look at it. He says that they wanted Katie for questioning involving Dillow’s murder. James tells them that he got rid of the men by claiming he had two roommates who were sleeping. He says that their demands that he wake them up violated his gay rights. Not wanting to step into that situation the men left quickly, James adds with a large smile.

The men didn't mention anything about Katie being from Sagebrush, either, James says, and he thinks it is because maybe someone will call and check and find out that she was never there. He tells Katie that now he believes her.
