Summary

Chapter 1

The main character wakes without any recognition of where she is, why she’s there, or who she is. Two men are discussing what to do with her, and she is in considerable pain. One of the men thinks it’s best to kill her, while the other says she’s just a kid.

They argue, and first demands that the second captor kill the girl. He leaves, saying he has to go to Portland. The second man drags her outside, and on the way she realizes there are two of her fingernails on a table, and she also sees a chair with ropes. She realizes she must have been there before she woke up on the floor. Her train of thought is interrupted as the second man drags her outside to do as he was told.
