Good versus Evil

The primary plot throughout the entire novel is that of good versus evil. Primarily, this is related to the war between the aliens and the humans. The Covenant, which are the aliens, are trying to wipe out human civilization.

Dr. Halsey also walks the line between good and evil. On the evil side, she kidnaps children in order to find the members she needs and wants to train for her Spartan project. While this is for the good of human civilization, Dr. Halsey is responsible for ripping children away from their families and everything they. Additionally, the augmentation she makes to the children to turn them into Spartans is also questionable. In some cases, the Spartans are mangled, deformed and evil killed from the side effects of the augmentation process.
