Chapter 1. Blood Summary

Lucy Szabo is a teenage girl who is convinced that she is a vampire. She does not think she is the blood-sucking kind of vampire, she is a diabetic. Lucy begins to lose control of her diabetes, and with that she also loses control of her life in every aspect. Lucy needs help, and if she doesn't get the help she needs she is going to lose her life.

The protagonist, Lucy, describes how she needs blood in order to live and that she depends on it with her life. She then recounts the time when she was six years old on vacation and she found a bat. She brings home the bat and her father starts demanding if the bat bit her or not. Her parents make her get rabies shots, however, she can not recall getting the shots. She...
