Chapter 5, Shiva Summary

Peter Wiggins mother reminds Peter that Battle School graduates were denied a normal childhood and asks Peter to free them from war. Peter did not attend Battle School, and his involvement in the war is by choice. Bean and Peter stand before a screen showing a woman named Virlomi, who leads India. She challenges Alai by first thanking him for liberating her county and then lists some facts and states Muslims are not welcome in India until Islam allows people freedom to believe or not without the threat of punishment.
