Chapter 35 Summary

Several weeks later, Lucas appears at Elle's office with his arm still in a cast from his struggle with Vullion. He brings her a gift, an inscribed medallion. They talk about their school days and then Lucas's relationship with Jennifer who still refuses to marry him. Carla, he tells her, is in Chicago. When she asks if he feels any guilt over Vullion's death, she thinks about it and says she doesn't want to know any of the details.

Chapter 35 Analysis

Elle seems to know about Lucas' history. Vullion is the sixth man that he has killed. She asks if he feels any guilt and he asks if she wants to know the details. She says no. She apparently has guessed at the truth.
