Chapter Eight, Part 1-4 Summary

Sara now takes Valium with her purple, red and orange diet pills. Her friends have finally realized that something is very wrong and they try without success to get her to eat. Per Sara's request, Ada still touches up Sara's red hair every few weeks in denial that the show may have been canceled. One cold afternoon paranoia leads her to the headquarters of the McDick Corporation dressed in her red dress and gold shoes over layers of winter clothes.

The receptionist at McDick and other representatives who have spoken to Sara over the past months are shocked to see her there and are saddened by her miserable state. They offer her soup and try to console her crying and begging to be let on a show, any show. Someone calls an ambulance and Sara ends up...
