Chapters 55-64 Summary

Chapter 55 is called "Take All his Air." Hook, not knowing that Peter has left the island, is dismayed that he has not tried to save his friends. He decides he should capture the other two boys as well.

"A Very Strange Business" is the name of Chapter 56. Lord Ombra, Nerezza, Slank, Gerch and Hampton return by carriage to the Aster house in the late afternoon as the postman comes by. Jarvis is on guard, and Hampton tells the others he is one of the guards who is under Ombra's control. The men sit quietly and uncomfortably until Hampton breaks the silence and mentions he heard a strange story about several prisoners going flying into the air earlier in the day.
