Chapter 11 Summary

Moore and Hart are sharing a suite at the Foster Lafayette Hotel. Moore returns at midnight with a can of film since he asked for two copies of Dillon's film. He has given one to Dillon and keeps the second for Pickering.

At Henderson Field, Galloway is waiting for the half dozen dive bombers to arrive. These are the Dauntlesses. He goes to talk to Lieutenant Colonel Dawkins and learns that he is on patrol . He introduces himself to the pilots who flew the new Wildcats to Henderson. They are Dick Stecker and Pick Pickering and they are assigned to VMF-229.
