September through February Summary and Analysis

In her September 6th entry, Nancy reports that she hates school in Arizona. No one sees her and she feels desperately lonely. At lunch, she just wants to scream that she has AIDS. Nancy has known the gaggle since kindergarten and has always belonged. The next few days Nancy is just exhausted and depressed that she cannot go home. She is getting grumpier and kids being nicer at school do not help. On the 11th, Nancy goes to the airport even though she is in a lot of pain. She is too sick to endure the flight and so her father takes her to see Dr. Marx, a young, black doctor that Dr. Sheranian recommends. Nancy studies at home until September 21st and is not sure that she can wait long. She is happy to be home...
