June Summary and Analysis

On June 6th, school gets out. On June 7th, the gaggle goes out to Red's uncle Bill's cabin on the lake. Nancy thinks that it is beautiful up there. Three days later after dinner, Lew and Nancy go for a long walk. Nancy thinks Lew is wise and mature beyond his years. His parents teach at the university and his brothers are older. Nancy lets herself think about marrying him and mentions that she wants to go into medicine. Lew and Nancy both want kids as well. Lew's mom then got MS and his father found another woman. The two then discuss divorce.

That afternoon, Uncle Bill runs a church service and talks about how sin pollutes the soul. Nancy feels good repenting for all she has done wrong. That night, Lew and Nancy sit on the boathouse. Lew goes running...
