Summary

Chapters 7 and 8

In the morning another guard brings Khalid tea and stale bread which he hungrily consumes. The guard turns his back and Khalid leaps on him. Before he can subdued the guard's yelling brings several more that stand pointing their guns at him. He lets go and sinks to the floor where the guards kick him until his nose bleeds and he vomits. He lies there until he falls asleep, and when he wakes in the dark he panics, in pain from one end to the other. Lights come on, and he is taken to another room where he is left with just one man who handcuffs one hand to a chair.
