Summary

Chapters 5 and 6

When Khalid enters his Aunts’ living room, a sea of faces turns to him expectantly. Everyone fires questions off at once, and he quietly tells them that he has no news. He slips out into the kitchen and putting some cushions on the floor, he falls into an exhausted sleep. Constant interruptions finally get him up. He tries to sleep in bed, but after much tossing and turning, he gives up. He goes down to the computer, hoping to find an email that will somehow explain his father’s disappearance, and finds Abdullah sitting at it. He closes the page and tells Khalid he can go back to his game, and Khalid realizes that he probably didn’t log off, giving Abdullah that information.
