Chapter 142 Summary

When all is said and done, Thomas says he wants to hunt for Flagg and kill him, feeling responsible for his bad deeds, although Flagg will not be able to live safely in Delain after all he has done. Dennis will go with Thomas. Peter becomes the great king everyone has known he would be, and Ben marries Naomi.

Chapter 142 Analysis

The book ends with Thomas's decision to try to find Flagg, foreshadowing a possible new story in another novel. Peter becomes a good king and Ben marries, giving the reader the proverbial happily ever after ending.
