Chapter 139 Summary

Peter rushes into his father's sitting room and looks for Foe-Hammer, but it is gone. Flagg arrives and tries to enter but the door is locked. Flagg beats the door open and threatens to kill Peter. Peter confronts Flagg with Valera's locket and accuses him of murder. Flagg admits to killing Roland but says there is nothing any one can do about it because he intends to kill everyone in the room. No one has noticed Thomas until he announces that he knows the truth.

Chapter 139 Analysis

The theme of good versus evil is evident in this as Peter confronts Flagg with the truth and learns that he was correct all along. However, Flagg believes he has the upper hand until Thomas admits to seeing Flagg murder his father, ruining all of Flagg's plans.
