Summary

In Chapter 30, Diana has become a source of information for witches having trouble with spells. She can see the mechanics behind the spells in the form of threads and knots, making it possible for her to untangle them so they work correctly again. Matthew returns and they spend days together, slowly catching each other up on the events. Matthew is trying to figure out where Benjamin is gone when he and Diana are not together. Most of the extended family are nearby, including Jack, but Gallowglass has left town. Matthew knows Gallowglass loves Diana and feels his departure is probably for the best. He, like Diana, hopes Gallowglass can find happiness. Most evenings, Diana and Matthew dine with Marcus and Phoebe.
