After America takes Abby back to the dorm in Chapter 20, Abby has never felt so alone; she believed that she was important to Travis, but he just wants to own her and she does not belong to anyone. Though she does not feel like celebrating, America assures her that Travis will not be at the date party, but he shows up anyway because he knows Abby will be there. He compliments her and tries to say that he wanted her at the fight because she is his good luck charm, his everything, not just to prove she is his.
