Chapter 1: Red Flag

Abby believes it is obvious she does not belong in the crowded, dirty room as she follows her best friend, America, and Shepley, America's boyfriend, through the crowd. Adam stands on a chair to welcome everyone to the Circle and to explain the rules of the fight. He introduces the challenger, Marek Young, who fights Travis "Mad Dog" Maddox who needs no introduction. Abby pushes her way through the crowd to watch Travis knock Marek out, but when the crowd pushes her around, Travis appears to save her from falling and returns her to America and Shepley who yell at her for endangering herself. America takes Abby and Kara Lin back to her dorm and her roommate, Kara Lin.
