Lesson 1 (from Introduction)

Objective

Bruce Lee began studying martial arts as a way to protect himself. He uses combat to create a more peaceful life for himself. The objective of this lesson is to discuss inner and outer peace.

Lesson

1) Divide the class into two groups. Assign them either Inner or Outer Peace. Each student will be responsible for choosing a single word to describe inner or outer peace. They can choose words from the Introduction or ones from their personal experiences. Give them 5-10 minutes to choose their words then write brief descriptions in their classroom notes or journals. Students should then share their words and reflections with an opposing partner.

2) Ask the students to form two circles. The students should be facing each other. Student share their "peace words" in a continuous flow. Once one circle has finished, the other one can begin. It is OK if students...
