Chapter 23 Summary

Captain Keyes is surveying the damage of his own ship, other ships and the casualties from the battle. Even with the major loss of lives, loss of ships and major damage to all of the ships in the fleet, the morale of Captain Keye's crew seems to be higher and moiré confident. Captain Keyes attributes the boost in morale to the victory over the Covenant, which is but only one in three victories since the war began. Admiral Stanforth sends a memo to Keyes saying that both of their presence is requested at Reach with ONI for a briefing. While the Iroquois heads toward Reach, it flies through a bunch of space junk or debris floating around from the battle. What nobody onboard notices, is that one of the pieces of debris is some sort of technology that attaches itself to the ship...
