Chapter 46 Summary
Jill leads John into the family room, where she inserts the videotape into the VCR and plays it. John and Jill watch the tape all the way through together. As the video gets to the part where Jill and Bud begin having sex, John wants to fast-forward the tape, but Jill insists that John watch it so that he will understanding why she did not want to turn the tape in to the police. John and Jill continue to watch the tape. Jill makes comments about how foolish she looks naked and asks John what he thinks, which makes John very uncomfortable. They continue to watch the tape, and it arrives at the part where Jill and Bud are out in the ocean. Then they go back to the beach, where Bud lies down, and they start having sex. Jill asks John whether her husband will ever see that part...
