Peter and his friends get to the West Gate where they run into a group of guards, one of whom is not drunk which is unusual in this time. Peter convinces him that he is the rightful king and should be allowed to pass. The man allows him to pass. Flagg runs toward the castle toward Roland's apartments. Peter asks Dennis for the locket, which he threw down with the note. Dennis gives it to him, and they go to Roland's apartments where Peter intends to get Foe-Hammer, his father's arrow......
