Chapters 2 - 5 Summary

Roland, the king of Delain, is very old. Roland came to the crown late in life because his mother was a stubborn woman, who was determined to never die. However, she did die in a very bizarre accident. The queen was surprised by a loud noise while chewing on a lemon and choked on the lemon. Shortly after her death when Roland is made king, his advisers, including Flagg, the magician, recommend he get married. Roland marries Sasha, a woman much younger than Roland. Roland marries not for love but because she was a good candidate to be queen. Roland is awkward around women and has no desire to create children with a woman. However, Flagg helps Roland with this last problem by giving him a potion.

Sasha is a much beloved.....
