Summary

In Part III, “Flame,” Kyungha and Inseon feel a shift in the temperature. Kyungha studies “the photo of bones” in front of her, thinking of all those who died (237). She wonders if she has reached the bottom of something.

Inseon takes the candle from Kyungha and leads her across the room. Kyungha studies the giant shadow Inseon’s body makes on the wall. She urges Kyungha to follow her so she can show her where they will plant the stumps for the film. Kyungha hesitates to go outside in the dark as their candle is running low. Inseon assures her that they will return before the candle goes out. Kyungha gives in. They pass the candle back and forth while they put on their things.

On the way out, Kyungha grabs a pack of matches. Inseon tells her to step in her tracks so...
