Isabella Swan

This character is commonly known as Bella, the protagonist of the book and the first person voice of the book. She moves from Arizona to a small town on the Olympia peninsula, a town known for its almost constant rainfall and cloudiness. Bella reveals her selflessness by moving to this place because her mother has remarried to a minor league baseball player and Bella does not want to hinder her mother's happiness. Bella moves in with her father, and again reveals her generosity by beginning to shop, clean and cook without complaining. When her father gives her an almost antique truck, Bella appreciates it even though a lesser person might disdain it. Bella does excellent work in high school, revealing an intelligent and academic nature.
