Point of View

The novel is written in third-person from a series of limited perspectives. The limited perspective is typical of the genre and is necessary in order for the author to keep secrets that can be used as plot twists. There are several examples of this, including that Letty feels certain Evan killed Tanya, but has no proof of that. Letty is determined to stay at the Murmuring Surf Motel because of an article in Tanya's go-bag, but she is there for awhile before she learns about Tanya's past history with the place. Evan believes Vikki is a corrupt city official who is willing to help hire someone to kill Letty, but Vikki is actually an undercover FBI agent.
