Chapters 5-8, Leo and Jason Summary

Leo is taken to the Hephaestus cabin where he meets the head councilor of the cabin, Jake, who is wrapped up in bandages in bed. He tells Leo to take Charles Beckendorf's bed, the old councilor of the Hephaestus cabin who died in the Titan War. Leo then goes to the forge, where he is greeted by the rest of the Hephaestus kids. They explain to him that there is a mechanical dragon out in the woods. It was built by Hephaestus cabin long ago. Beckendorf found the pieces and rebuilt it, but since his death it has gone haywire and attacks the camp. The Hephaestus cabin are now working on the problem of trapping it and deactivating it. Leo is also told that it has been centuries since the last Hephaestus kid was born...
