Section XV, ch. 43-46 Summary

After Gabriel gives Anita a knife, she tries to convince Heidi to give her a gun, but Heidi is too frightened of Raina. Richard sends a mental image through Anita's head, distracting her as Gabriel comes toward her. Anita, realizing she needs to hurry, urges Gabriel on. Gabriel scratches her as Richard distracts her by screaming in her head; Anita tells Richard not to distract her for a while. Anita stabs Gabriel, but he continues trying to rape her. Jean-Claude obtains permission through Anita's mind and gives her the first and second marks. Gabriel kisses Anita, and she kisses him back, moving her hands up the side of his face to gouge his eyes out. Anita kills Gabriel, and Raina charges at her. Anita grabs her gun and shoots Raina as Edward and Harley enter the room...
