Section IV, ch. 9-10 Summary

Richard refuses Anita's offer to bandage his wounds. Anita will not lie when it could get people killed. Anita wakes to a knock on her bedroom door. Stephen enters and asks to sleep with her because he is scared to be alone while Richard patrols the woods for assassins. Anita puts Stephen against the wall so she is closer to the door if there is an attack. Anita wakes at dawn to two voices in front of the door, and she unlocks the safety on her gun. A man hears the noise, and Anita, recognizing Jason's voice, puts the safety back on her gun. Anita opens the door to Jason teasing her about Stephen being in her bed. A woman steps out of Richard's room with towels, and Jason introduces Anita to Sylvie. Dr. Lillian bandages Richard...
