Summary

Part One, Chapters Eight and Nine

In Chapter Eight, Ethan takes charge of Ash when they leave the police station. Jules watches, but doesn’t notice the significance of the moment she is seeing between the two of them. It is the beginning of their love. Meanwhile, life becomes more and more stressful at the Wolf house. Ash calls Jules one day telling her that Goodman is having emotional trouble along with his legal trouble. He’s drinking more and more. She asks Jules to try to talk to Cathy. Jules arranges the meeting with Cathy, but it doesn’t go like any of them hoped. Jules leaves the meeting unsure if Goodman is really innocent, as Goodman is insisting. Finally, Goodman disappears for good one day. Ash holds out hope that he will return.
