Section 10: Chapters 23, 24 & 25 Summary

In Age 14, Chapter 23: Death, Matt is terrified as he is strapped to a bed in the room where MacGregor's clone was kept. When he is taken to El Patron, El Patron smiles, complaining that clones always forget the wonderful years he gave them. El Patron retells the story of his youth, ending with his belief that he is meant to have justice for the fact that his siblings did not live to adulthood. Celia informs El Patron that he cannot use Matt for a transplant because she has fed him enough arsenic to kill anyone weak who tries to steal his heart; "you've had your eight lives, El Patron. It's time to make your peace with God" (p. 236). El Patron turns red and is taken to the emergency room as guards usher Celia away. Matt's solitude is interrupted when Mr. Alacran...
