Section 8: Chapters 18, 19 & 20 Summary

In Chapter 18: The Dragon Hoard, Celia wakes Matt and rushes him to get dressed. Bodyguards meet them in the hallway and escort them to the hospital to see El Patron who has had a heart attack. Matt feels sick from shock, but El Patron's surgery goes well, though it is obvious that something vital is now missing since he no longer finds pleasure in his enemies' disgraces. Trying to comfort El Patron, Matt suggests that St. Francis says it is good to give to the poor, causing El Patron to fly into a rage at the idea of giving stuff away. Tam Lin compliments Matt's cleverness in giving El Patron a boot up his rear by suggesting he give away his dragon hoard.
