Summary

Part Two is titled Rise to Power. In Chapter 10, Anemone berates Turtle for following them. Anemone and Turtle briefly argue about Darkstalker's reason for going to the Rainforest. Turtle argues that the NightWings are safe under Glory's leadership. Anemone disagrees. Anemone also reveals that Darkstalker had asked if she performed magic without his “permission.” She was offended and says Darkstalker “knows I'm a princess and can do whatever I want” (113). Turtle is not sure that is accurate. They arrive at the NightWing village in the Rainforest. Glory is waiting and Darkstalker assumes Sunny used the dreamvisitor to alert her. A few NightWings have run away. Darkstalker begins to talk, glossing over his past, pledging his devotion to his tribe, and challenging Glory for the throne.
