Chapters 26-28 Summary

In Chapter 26, Gruven, Dagrab and Rawback travel along the trail of Vallug and Eefera. Gruven thinks over the events at the farmhouse where Dagrab killed Nimbalo's father with the axe that Dagrab still carries. He is feeling in control of the situation. They hear bells, and hurry along.

In the Abbey, Mhera finds another scrap of cloth with a clue on it. She begins to suspect that someone is planting them for others to find, because this one was found in a strawberry patch.

Outside the Abbey, Vallug and Eefera watch for any creature to appear on the walls. When Fwirl jumps up on the wall to look around, Vallug shoots her with an arrow. She is taken to the infirmary and treated for her wound. Outside, Vallug and Eefera call out that they will keep killing creatures until they are...
